“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”

– Robert Louis Stevenson

Up at the lake this morning. Hotter than blue blazes out there already, so we've moved the party back inside. This is not a place that does Florida style heat and humidity well, and our eastward facing porch catches pretty much none of the breezes flowing northeast across the lake this time of year.

I can work from anywhere, and Peg has the next six days off. We decided it's time for a road trip. I'm a little glum these days with the end of the Tara era, and the house is a mess with the move which Peg can't stand. An adventure might lift everyone's spirits.

So in a couple hours we're off to Canada. From here it's a mere 5 1/2 hours to Montreal, and another three to Quebec City. I've never been to either, and we've talked about flying the Columbia up there for years before I finally gave up because of this bizarre requirement that the airplane and I obtain radio licenses before we can cross the border. Hence, the road trip.

But fate waving its fickle finger has encumbered me with a head cold for the ages. As I write this, I have my roll of snot rags and trash bag close at hand so I can blow my nose every minute or so. I'm hoping this DayQuil kicks in soon; otherwise it could be a long day, and a long trip.

Now to get a little work done so I can guiltlessly wander Francophone Canada.
