"Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop"

Back at the lake after a frenetic week in Florida.

Saturday at Wyldswood I announced my intention not to work all day, that I was exhausted and just needed to take care of a couple things for work before going golfing or just curling up in the air conditioning with a book. Instead I worked until after lunch, then mowed until after five while P drove the John Deere with the finish mower over the rough patches. Some day off that was.
Yesterday we flew home, after a frustrating delay of over an hour because Dean slipped out the door and hid under the house. I say "hid", but the fact is we could see him just fine; I'm just disinclined to chase him around in the grimy crawl space. Finally Peg lured him out with the promise of cat treats, we whisked him and Slane into the carrier, and made an uneventful two-hop flight home. It was 71 degrees when we landed, a welcome change from mid-90s all week in Florida.
Immediately after unloading the cats we drove up here to the lake. Although this week should be restful compared to the last couple, I have three mediations and a deposition to defend--I certainly won't be idle. But there's something about in-person work I find exhausting now, and although I need it for my mental health small doses are just fine, thank you.
Time to get ready for that first mediation.
