Stormy Weather

Another brief one.
Our weekend was truncated by an unavoidable trip back to the Panhandle to testify as an expert witness with regard to a fee claim. The whole thing could've been resolved for maybe $25,000.00, but we live in an age when everyone is angry and nothing is resolved amicably, especially in the South. So we'll spend that much on this silly exercise.
I flew into KFPY because the weather yesterday afternoon in Bay County didn't allow for a safe flight into KECP. My hope had been to get up very early this morning in Perry, fly the plane over here, and then have it sitting at Sheltair when this hearing is over so I could fly home. Look at me, calling Corning "home". I guess it's true after five years.
Anyway, I awoke at 3 eastern to check the weather, and things were rapidly deteriorating along the central Gulf Coast. There would be no predawn flight into PC. Instead, I crawled into the Mercedes at 4 am and drove over, my only companion the BBC World Service. Sort of depressing and distressing to hear how badly things are going around the entire planet, with each country's version of DJT seeming to have whipped the rubes into a froth. Did you see what happened in Argentina yesterday? Good grief.
I have a couple hours here at the condo watching it storm,

then to the lawyer's office for a little prep, then the hearing, then back to Perry in the hope I can fly home before this weather drifts over there and traps me in Florida for the next few days. All exhausting and unpleasant. I'm not agreeing to any more in-person anything after I burn off whatever's left lurking on my calendar. It's time.
